LSTAA Mourns the Passing of Umpire Wayne Jewel

Every once in a while you meet a special person in life and Wayne Jewel was one of those individuals.  Wayne dedicated over 40 years to youth baseball and was the face of the Hershey Area Umpires Association (HAUA) which officiates our youth baseball and teener baseball games.  LSTAA was shocked by the news today of his passing.  Wayne's presence on the baseball fields will be sorely missed and LSTAA would like to extend its heartfelt condolences to his wife Jean and the entire Jewel family.  Godspeed Wayn

Township Makes Improvements to Woodridge Field

Woodridge Baseball Field received a facelift this week as the township park and recreation crew installed new clay bricks underneath the batter's box as well as rebuilt the pitching mound.  These clay bricks were previously installed at the Memorial Teener Field last year.  Adding clay bricks to the base of the heaviest worn parts of the field will not only help preserve the playing surfaces from normal wear and tare and erosion, but enhance safety as well.  LSTAA is partnering with the township to install

LSTAA Thanks Ben Hall

Ben Hall served LSTAA for the past 13 years as a father, coach and softball vice president.  Today we salute him and his years of service to LSTAA has he "hangs up his cleats" and moves on to another chapter of his life.  Ben Hall has served the entire Lower Swatara community most recently as the LSTAA Vice President for Softball but also as the past President of the Suburban Girls Softball League.  Throughout his tenure he coached and helped mold hundreds of girls in our community into young women as they
